- 3 T. Unsweetened Cocoa
- 1 C. water
- 1 stick butter
- 3/4 C. oil
- 2 C. sugar
- 2 C. flour
- 1 t. salt
- 3/4 C. Milk
- 1 t. baking soda
- 2 eggs
- 1 tsp. vanilla
Preheat oven to 400 deg. Mix the flour, sugar, and salt in a bowl and set it aside. Heat cocoa, water, butter, and oil in a small saucepan to boiling and butter is melted. Mix the hot mixture with the dry ingredients. Stir in milk, eggs, baking soda, and vanilla. Bake in a greased jelly roll pan for 18-20 minutes and let it cool.
Frosting
- 4-5 C. of powdered sugar
- 1 stick of butter
- 5 T. milk
- 3 T. cocoa
- pinch of salt
- 1 t. vanilla
Heat the butter, milk, and cocoa to boiling and butter is melted. Remove from heat and mix in vanilla and pinch of salt. Whisk and add 1 cup at a time of the powdered sugar and whisk really well until the frosting mixture has thickened up. Sometimes depending on the brand of powdered sugar you have to add more powdered sugar to thicken it to a frosting like texture. It may seem like alot but don't worry its fine. Frost the cake and enjoy! Like almost all my desserts I like this cake cold but its just as good warm :)01 02 03 07 08 11 12
